As the department marks this historic anniversary, we would like to extend our gratitude to past and present members, community partners, and the citizens of Bridgewater for their continued support. The 150 year stands as both a celebration of the past and a commitment to the future of fire and emergency service in the region.

Upcoming Events

Throughout the anniversary year, our department will host a series of special events to honour our history, recognize our members, and engage with the community we proudly serve. Planned celebrations include a community open house, the department’s annual banquet, and the honour of hosting the Lunenburg Regional Fire & Emergency Services Mutual Aid Parade during Fire Prevention Week.

150th Anniversary Open House - Saturday, May 30th from 1:00-4:00 PM (81 Dominion St.)

Join us as the Bridgewater Fire Department celebrates 150 years of service with a community open house. Explore our apparatus, equipment, and enjoy a free BBQ with hot dogs and cake. We’ll also have bouncy houses and activities for the kids. It’s a great opportunity to meet your local firefighters and enjoy a fun afternoon for all ages. We look forward to seeing you there!
